Financial Support

Most graduate students receive some type of financial assistance. The department, in collaboration with the Department of Medicinal Chemistry, has had a National Institutes of Health (NIH) Training Grant for more than 25 years. Qualified U.S. citizens or permanent residents can be appointed to these prestigious traineeships. A National Institutes of Health Training Grant supports several trainees in the department for two or three-year periods. Research or teaching assistantships are available through the department to qualified applicants. The university also offers a limited number of special fellowships for outstanding U.S. students.
